Escambia County, FL (BuzzReport) — A Thursday evening shooting at a Warrington-area apartment complex left two people wounded and triggered an active investigation by local authorities, with the suspect still on the run. Deputies with the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office were dispatched to Forest Creek Apartments around 6:15 p.m. following reports of gunfire. According to investigators, the violence erupted after an altercation between individuals escalated into a shooting. Officials confirmed that a male victim suffered a gunshot wound to the leg, while a female victim was struck in the hip. Both injuries have been classified as non-life-threatening, and the victims are currently receiving medical care. The shooting adds to mounting concerns about public safety in parts of Warrington, a community within Pensacola that has seen periodic incidents of violence in recent years. As of late Thursday night, no arrests had been made. Deputies remained on scene for hours processing evidence and canvassing the area for witnesses. Authorities have not released a description of the suspect, and it remains unclear what led to the initial dispute. The investigation is ongoing, and officials are urging anyone with information to contact law enforcement as they work to identify and apprehend the person responsible.
