PRICHARD, Ala. (BuzzReport) — It was a long night for the Mary G. Montgomery Vikings as the No. 2-ranked Vigor Wolves showed why they are considered one of the top teams in the area. Playing Friday night at Wolfpack Stadium, Vigor overwhelmed the Class 6A Vikings, cruising to a 47-3 victory in a game that quickly turned into a showcase for the Wolves’ explosive offense and relentless defense. Vigor set the tone early and never let up. Demetris Johnson was one of the night’s biggest stars, powering his way into the end zone twice on touchdown runs as the Wolves continued to pile on points. By the second half, Vigor had firmly taken control, leaving Mary G. Montgomery struggling to find answers on both sides of the ball. The Vikings managed just three points while the Wolves’ offense continued to find ways to move the football and put pressure on the scoreboard. For Vigor, the dominant performance sends another loud message to the rest of the competition: the No. 2 Wolves are not simply ranked among the best—they are playing like it.
