Escambia County, FL (BuzzReport) — A routine traffic stop escalated into a foot pursuit and drug arrest after a driver fled deputies in Escambia County, according to law enforcement officials. Authorities say units from C/North attempted to stop a vehicle after the driver ran a stop sign near the intersection of Olive Road and Deborah Drive. The driver refused to stop and led deputies onto Vickery Road before abandoning the vehicle and fleeing on foot into a nearby trailer park. After a brief foot pursuit, deputies located and detained the suspect, identified as 21-year-old Prentice Laguan Lindsey. A K-9 unit was deployed and alerted on the abandoned vehicle. During a subsequent search, deputies recovered approximately 238 grams of marijuana, drug paraphernalia, and a quantity of cash, officials said. Lindsey was arrested and charged with resisting without violence, possession of marijuana with intent to distribute, and possession of drug paraphernalia. He was transported to the Escambia County Jail. The incident remains under investigation.
