Baton Rouge, LA (BuzzReport) — An 18-year-old Baton Rouge man is facing a second-degree rape charge following a months-long investigation into an alleged sexual assault that occurred in November 2025, according to the East Baton Rouge Sheriff’s Office. Deputies say Kyran Brown was arrested in late January and booked into the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison after investigators gathered evidence related to the incident. According to arrest records and an affidavit, the victim told deputies she picked Brown up from his workplace and drove him to his home so he could retrieve his wallet. Authorities say Brown then directed her to a secluded dead-end road off Rome Drive. The woman reported that once there, Brown began discussing having sex in the vehicle and pressured her for approximately 10 minutes despite her repeated refusals. In a monitored phone call referenced in the affidavit, the woman later reminded Brown, “I told you I didn’t want to do anything like that.” Investigators state the woman eventually agreed to perform oral sex, but after the two moved to the backseat, Brown allegedly pulled her pants down and forced vaginal intercourse while she repeatedly told him no. A sexual assault examination conducted by a nurse documented a large vaginal laceration described as “atypical” for consensual sex. Deputies also reported that the victim’s blood was found inside the vehicle. In December, authorities say the victim identified Brown in a lineup. A warrant was subsequently issued for his arrest. Brown remains incarcerated in the East Baton Rouge Parish Prison on a charge of second-degree rape. The investigation remains ongoing.
