MOBILE, AL (BuzzReport) – A routine drive through Mobile’s Princeton Woods neighborhood turned into a sudden encounter with violence early Wednesday morning, leaving a male driver injured after his vehicle was struck by gunfire.

The incident unfolded at approximately 1:50 a.m. on December 3, 2025. Officers were dispatched to the vicinity of the 6400 block of St. Thomas Court, responding to multiple reports of shots ringing out in the residential area.

Upon arrival, officials determined that a victim, driving near the intersection of Princeton Woods Boulevard and Princeton Woods Drive East, came under unexpected fire. Bullets targeted and impacted the man’s vehicle, resulting in a wound to his shoulder.

The driver sustained a graze injury in the attack. Emergency medical personnel swiftly transported him from the scene to a nearby medical facility. Officials confirmed the injuries are not considered life-threatening.

The Mobile Police Department immediately initiated an intensive ground search and investigation following the violence. Crime scene analysts are meticulously reviewing the area where the shooting occurred, searching for shell casings and other physical evidence needed to identify the perpetrator.

Details regarding the shooter or the motivation behind the attack remain scarce. Authorities are urging residents in the Princeton Woods area to remain vigilant as the search for the individual or individuals responsible for the brazen, predawn shooting remains an active and rapidly developing investigation.
