Pensacola, FL (BuzzReport)– A significant blow to drug trafficking in Escambia County was delivered on November 18th, as law enforcement agencies successfully shut down a major narcotics operation and seized a substantial cache of dangerous illicit substances. The concerted effort by the Escambia County Sheriff’s Office SWAT Team and Narcotics Unit culminated in a targeted raid on a residence in the 800-block of West Cross Street.

The operation, executed under the authority of a search warrant, uncovered a considerable quantity of illegal drugs and related assets. Detectives located a staggering 56 grams of fentanyl, a highly potent synthetic opioid known for its extreme danger and role in the national overdose crisis. In addition to the fentanyl, authorities also discovered 12.5 grams of cocaine and a quantity of marijuana, underscoring the multi-faceted nature of the illicit activities at the location.

Further evidence of a sophisticated drug distribution network included the discovery of a firearm, a common accompaniment to large-scale drug dealings, and over $9,000 in cash, suspected to be proceeds from illegal sales. The presence of these items indicates a well-established and profitable criminal enterprise operating within the community.

Following the successful execution of the warrant and the comprehensive search, Kenneth Turner was taken into custody. He faces serious charges, including trafficking in fentanyl, possession of cocaine with the intent to sell, and possession of marijuana with the intent to sell. These charges reflect the severity and scale of the alleged drug activities uncovered by the Sheriff’s Office.

The closure of this drug house represents a critical victory in the ongoing fight against illegal narcotics in Escambia County. Law enforcement remains committed to proactively targeting and disrupting drug networks that pose a severe threat to public safety and well-being. The seizure of fentanyl, in particular, highlights the immediate danger posed by such operations to residents throughout the county.
