WAYNESBORO, Miss. (BuzzReport)- A brazen drive-by shooting rocked a residential neighborhood in Waynesboro late Sunday night, leaving five people injured in its wake. The incident occurred at the intersection of Turner Street and Grey Street around 11:00 p.m. on July 20.

Waynesboro Police Chief Holt Ross confirmed that multiple shots were fired in front of a residential area, sparking immediate concern for the safety of local residents. In the aftermath of the shooting, one victim was swiftly airlifted to the University of Mississippi Medical Center (UMMC) in Jackson for urgent treatment, underscoring the severity of the injuries sustained.

The Waynesboro Police Department is actively seeking information on the shooting. Chief Ross urges anyone with details about the incident to come forward and contact the department at 601-735-3129. Authorities are determined to bring those responsible to justice.
