MOBILE, AL (BuzzReport) – Two Mobile women were arrested Sunday in connection with a domestic violence incident during which one is accused of striking a man with a vehicle. Both are currently being held at Mobile County Metro Jail.

Anquanette Jefferson, 48, faces charges of second-degree domestic violence assault and driving under the influence (DUI), according to Mobile County Metro Jail records. Maleka Jefferson, 33, is charged with third-degree domestic violence assault and attempting to elude.

The male victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries and is recovering after being transported to a local hospital for treatment.

Mobile Police Department (MPD) officers responded to the 1200 block of Bernice Hudson Drive on Sunday afternoon following reports of a domestic disturbance. Upon arrival, officers discovered Anquanette Jefferson had allegedly struck the victim with a vehicle.

Investigators stated that the incident stemmed from an argument between the two women that escalated into a physical altercation inside the residence.

Authorities noted that Maleka Jefferson left the scene before officers arrived but was detained a short time later.

Both women were booked into Mobile County Metro Jail
