Suspect Detained After Bank Robbery at BankPlus on Montlimar Drive; FBI Assisting Mobile Police Investigation

MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A suspect is in custody after an alleged bank robbery at a Mobile financial institution Wednesday morning, prompting a joint investigation between the Mobile Police Department and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

According to the Mobile Police Department, officers were dispatched at approximately 9:50 a.m. on Wednesday, July 29, 2026, to BankPlus, located in the 1400 block of Montlimar Drive, following reports of a robbery in progress.

Investigators say the robbery occurred after an unidentified individual entered the bank and approached a teller. Rather than displaying a weapon, the suspect allegedly handed the teller a handwritten note demanding money.

Authorities said the teller complied with the demand, and the suspect fled the bank with an undisclosed amount of cash before officers arrived.

Responding officers quickly gathered information from witnesses and bank employees, including a description of the suspect. A short time later, officers located and detained an individual matching that description.

Because bank robberies fall under federal jurisdiction, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) responded alongside Mobile Police Department detectives to process the crime scene and continue the investigation.

Dillin Tucker, 19, was arrested and transported to Metro Jail this afternoon in reference to yesterday’s bank robbery.

Authorities continue to review evidence, including surveillance footage and witness statements, as they work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.

The Mobile Police Department said the investigation remains active, and no additional information is being released at this time.
