Mississippi Man Arrested After Stolen Kubota Tractor and Skid Steer Recovered; More Arrests Expected

JACKSON, Miss. (BuzzReport) — A 24-year-old Mississippi man has been arrested after authorities recovered two pieces of stolen agricultural equipment worth thousands of dollars, with investigators saying additional arrests are expected as the case remains under investigation.

According to the Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau (MALTB), the investigation began after the Yazoo City Police Department received a report on July 19 that two brand-new pieces of heavy equipment had been stolen. The missing equipment included a 2026 Kubota M4-071 four-wheel-drive tractor with a front-end loader and a 2026 Kubota SVL65-2 skid steer.

Investigators said the equipment had been transported on a delivery trailer by a trucking company en route to Kubota dealerships in Mississippi and Louisiana. During the drivers’ federally required rest period, the truck was parked in Yazoo City when the tractor and skid steer were allegedly removed from the trailer.

The investigation quickly led authorities to Jackson, where the stolen skid steer was located at a residence on July 21. Law enforcement recovered the equipment and arrested 24-year-old Shumar Isaiah Wilson in connection with the case.

Wilson was taken to the Jackson Police Department and charged with one count of receiving stolen property.

As the investigation continued, authorities also successfully recovered the stolen Kubota tractor in Yazoo County, marking the recovery of both pieces of equipment reported stolen.

Officials say the investigation remains active, and additional arrests are anticipated as detectives continue identifying others who may have been involved in the theft and transportation of the stolen machinery.

The Mississippi Agriculture and Livestock Theft Bureau is leading the investigation with assistance from the Yazoo City Police Department and the Jackson Police Department.

Authorities have not released additional details regarding potential suspects or the estimated value of the recovered equipment.
