Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A Mobile-area neurosurgeon is facing a new round of serious criminal charges after being booked into the Baldwin County Jail late Monday afternoon in connection with an ongoing investigation into alleged child sexual abuse material.

Shawn Broxton Clark was booked on four counts of possession of child pornography, according to Baldwin County Jail records.

The latest charges add another major development to a case that previously resulted in Clark’s arrest in Mobile County on similar allegations involving the possession and production of child sexual abuse material.

Investigators have been examining locations connected to Clark, including his home near Fairhope and his medical practice in Mobile, as authorities continue working to determine the full scope of the allegations.

The case has drawn heightened attention because of the serious nature of the accusations and Clark’s professional background as a neurosurgeon. However, the allegations remain accusations, and Clark has pleaded not guilty to the charges filed against him in Mobile County.

The investigation remains ongoing, and additional charges or developments could emerge as authorities continue their work.

The BuzzReport will continue monitoring the case and provide updates as more information becomes available.
