Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A Mobile man was arrested Sunday morning after police say he forced his way into a residence, caused significant property damage, and vandalized a vehicle during a domestic-related incident. According to the Mobile Police Department, officers responded to the 1800 block of Luckie Avenue at approximately 7:00 a.m. on May 31, 2026, following reports of a domestic disturbance. When officers arrived, they met with the victim, who reported that the suspect had gained entry into the home by kicking in the front door. Once inside, the suspect allegedly damaged multiple items throughout the residence, leaving behind extensive property destruction. Derrick Simon Police said the incident did not end when the suspect left the home. After exiting the residence, he allegedly turned his attention to the victim’s vehicle, vandalizing it before fleeing the area. Following an investigation, officers located the suspect at another location later that day. Authorities took him into custody without incident. The suspect, identified as Derrick Simon, 28, was transported to Mobile County Metro Jail, where he was booked on charges related to the incident. No injuries were reported during the disturbance, and authorities have not released additional details regarding the relationship between the suspect and the victim. The case remains under investigation by the Mobile Police Department.
