Homeland Security Agent Released on $560,000 Bond After Indictment in Child-Sex Case

MOBILE, AL (BuzzReport)—Homeland Security Special Agent Kent Blacklidge has been released from the Baldwin County Jail after posting a $560,000 bond in connection with an indictment alleging nearly a dozen sex crimes involving an underage girl.

Blacklidge turned himself in to authorities over the weekend following the Grand Jury indictment. The charges include rape, sodomy, child sexual abuse, and incest. He had been placed on administrative leave in January after the allegations were reported to the Spanish Fort Police Department.

The case has drawn added attention because Blacklidge specialized in child-exploitation investigations and trained others to recognize potential child predators.
