According to preliminary information released by authorities, the incident started at The Tavern in Atmore, where a dispute broke out involving multiple individuals. Police say the confrontation continued after those involved left the establishment, eventually leading to a shooting near the intersection of Rockaway Creek Road and Highway 31. Investigators said the victim, a woman from Monroe County, was struck during the shooting and suffered injuries. She is currently receiving medical treatment. Officials have not released details about the extent of her injuries or her current condition. Authorities also confirmed that the suspected shooter is believed to be from Monroe County.
