Foley, AL (BuzzReport) — Foley Police Department is investigating a deadly shooting that occurred at The Reserve Apartments on County Road 12, a violent incident that has left one person dead and prompted a multi-agency response.

According to police, officers responded to reports of a shooting at the apartment complex and discovered a victim who was pronounced dead at the scene. Authorities have not yet released the identity of the deceased pending notification of family members.

Due to the seriousness of the case, the Baldwin County Major Crimes Unit has taken over the investigation and is now leading efforts to determine exactly what led to the fatal gunfire.

Investigators remained at the scene for several hours gathering evidence, interviewing witnesses, and processing the area as residents of the apartment complex looked on with concern. Law enforcement officials have not said whether a suspect has been identified or if any arrests are imminent.

Despite the deadly nature of the shooting, police stated there is currently no indication that the public is in immediate danger. Authorities emphasized that the incident appears to be isolated, though investigators are continuing to piece together the circumstances surrounding the violence.

Residents near the complex reported a heavy police presence as detectives worked late into the investigation.

Officials are urging anyone who may have witnessed suspicious activity or who may have information connected to the case to contact law enforcement immediately. Investigators believe community cooperation could play a critical role in helping solve the homicide.
