Creola, Alabama (BuzzReport) — Another crash involving a local law enforcement officer is drawing renewed attention to roadway safety in north Creola, marking the third such incident in just three weeks. Authorities confirm that a two-vehicle collision occurred around 7:00 a.m. along Highway 43. The crash temporarily shut down northbound lanes, creating traffic delays during the early morning commute. Those lanes have since reopened. According to Alabama Law Enforcement Agency State Troopers, the incident involved a vehicle operated by a Creola Police Department officer and another passenger vehicle. A member of the Creola Volunteer Fire Department confirmed the officer was among those involved. Emergency responders transported the officer to a nearby hospital for evaluation. Officials report the officer is in good condition and expected to recover. The driver of the second vehicle was not injured. While details surrounding the cause of the crash remain under investigation, the frequency of recent incidents involving officers has raised concern among both officials and residents. Three officer-involved crashes in less than a month is an alarming trend that underscores the risks law enforcement faces daily—particularly on busy corridors like Highway 43. State Troopers have not released additional information at this time, including whether speed, weather, or other factors contributed to the collision. The investigation remains ongoing.
