GEORGE COUNTY, MS (BuzzReport) — A joint narcotics investigation has led to the arrest of two individuals accused of illegally transferring controlled substances, according to the George County Sheriff’s Office. Authorities confirmed that Christopher L. Williams, 49, and Dalton W. Turner, 35, were taken into custody following an operation conducted by the Sheriff’s Office Narcotics Division in partnership with the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics. Both men have been formally charged with Transfer of a Controlled Substance, a serious offense under Mississippi law. After appearing before George County Justice Court Judge Marty Davis, each was issued a $30,000 commercial bond. Law enforcement officials say the arrests are part of a broader, ongoing effort to disrupt illegal drug distribution networks operating within the region. Investigators have not released specific details about the substances involved or the circumstances leading up to the arrests, citing the active nature of the case. Sheriff Mitchell Mixon emphasized the importance of interagency collaboration in addressing drug-related crimes. “The continued partnership between the George County Sheriff’s Office and the Mississippi Bureau of Narcotics plays a vital role in combating illegal drug activity in our community,” Mixon said. “We remain committed to aggressively pursuing those who choose to distribute controlled substances and endanger the safety of our citizens.” Officials confirmed that the investigation remains ongoing, and additional arrests or charges could follow as new information develops. Authorities urge anyone with information related to illegal drug activity in George County to contact local law enforcement. Further updates will be provided as the case progresses.
