Okaloosa County, FL (BuzzReport) — A brazen burglary attempt in Destin ended in swift arrests Thursday evening after deputies caught two suspects inside a home they had allegedly broken into, marking the third time in just over a month that offenders have been apprehended in the act.

According to the Okaloosa County Sheriff’s Office, Bravo East Deputies responded to reports of two suspicious males seen crawling through a window of a residence on Luke Avenue. The call triggered an immediate and coordinated response.

Deputies quickly surrounded the home, establishing a perimeter before making contact with both suspects still inside the property. Authorities said one of the individuals attempted to flee through the back door but stopped and surrendered when confronted. The second suspect reportedly retreated further into the home but was challenged by deputies and ultimately gave up without further incident.

Investigators say both suspects were advised of their rights and later confessed to the break-in. They now face charges of burglary of an unoccupied dwelling and criminal mischief.

Law enforcement officials emphasized the significance of the arrests, noting this incident marks the third time since March 20 that Bravo East Deputies have intercepted and arrested burglary suspects while the crimes were actively unfolding.

Officials credit rapid response, proactive patrol strategies, and community vigilance for the repeated success in stopping crimes in progress.

The investigation remains ongoing, and authorities have not yet released the identities of the suspects.
