JACKSON, Miss. (BuzzReport) — Authorities in Jackson are investigating a homicide after a man who had previously been reported missing was found dead Tuesday night. Officers with the Jackson Police Department responded to the 3600 block of Skyline Drive around 9:00 p.m. on February 18, 2026. Upon arrival, officers discovered the body of an unidentified man inside a vacant property. According to Tyree Jones, who also serves as Jackson Police Chief, investigators believe the victim died from a gunshot wound. The man’s gray 2020 Nissan Sentra is unaccounted for and is being sought as part of the investigation. No suspect information has been released, and the victim’s identity has not yet been confirmed. The case remains under active investigation.
