Mobile, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A 19-year-old woman was taken into custody Tuesday afternoon following an assault investigation in a Mobile residential area, according to police. Officers with the Mobile Police Department responded at approximately 1:13 p.m. on Tuesday, February 3, 2026, to the 3000 block of Bay Crescent Drive in reference to an assault call. Upon arrival, officers located an adult female victim who was suffering from a minor, non-life-threatening burn injury. Police said the victim was transported to a local hospital for medical evaluation and treatment. Her condition was not considered serious. Authorities reported that the suspect, who was known to the victim, remained at the scene and was taken into custody without incident. Investigators determined that the two individuals were involved in a physical altercation, during which the suspect allegedly threw a hot food item at the victim, causing the burn injury. The suspect was identified as Diamond Harris, 19. Harris was transported to Metro Jail following the arrest. No additional injuries were reported, and police did not indicate whether further charges may be pending. The incident remains under investigation by the Mobile Police Department.
