(BuzzReport)— A routine shopping trip turned into a frightening emergency this morning when a vehicle caught fire in the parking lot of a Home Depot in Destin, prompting a swift response from firefighters and sheriff’s deputies. According to authorities, the incident unfolded while a father had gone inside the store to shop. When he returned to the parking lot, he discovered his vehicle engulfed in flames, with his children still inside. First responders rushed to the scene and safely removed three children, ranging in age from 7 to 14, from the vehicle area. Officials said one of the children was treated at the scene for smoke inhalation. The extent of any additional injuries has not been released. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the blaze and prevent it from spreading to nearby vehicles, while deputies secured the area and assisted the family. The cause of the fire has not yet been determined and remains under investigation.
