MOBILE COUNTY, AL – A dangerous, high-speed chase involving a federally wanted suspect concluded violently Tuesday afternoon when the fleeing vehicle crashed in south Mobile County, resulting in the apprehension of three people. The multi-agency pursuit, which spanned several miles and involved speeds topping 100 miles per hour, posed a significant threat to public safety across the region.

The operation utilized resources from State Troopers, the Mobile County Sheriff’s Office (MCSO), and the U.S. Marshals Service. The chase began near Grand Bay and continued at extreme speeds through major roadways, ending near Bayou La Batre when the vehicle wrecked near the intersection of Pine Springs Road and Half Mile Road.

Jalyn Hall, who was driving the vehicle during the pursuit, was immediately taken into custody following the crash. Jail records indicate Hall faces serious felony charges, including attempting to elude law enforcement and unlawful drug possession.

Investigators confirmed that a primary target of the pursuit was passenger Michael Lanzer, a resident of Eight Mile. Lanzer was actively sought by federal authorities on an outstanding warrant at the time of the incident. Following his arrest, records show Lanzer has been charged locally with felony probation violation.

A third individual, a woman traveling as a passenger in the car, was also detained at the crash site.

All three individuals remain in custody as the state and federal charges proceed through the judicial system.
