Man Shot During Attempted Robbery on Cottage Hill Road in Mobile

MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — Mobile Police are investigating after a man was shot during an attempted robbery early Saturday morning along Cottage Hill Road.

According to the Mobile Police Department, officers responded to a local hospital at approximately 3:30 a.m. on Saturday, July 25, 2026, after receiving a report that a male victim had arrived by personal vehicle suffering from a gunshot wound.

When officers arrived at the hospital, they learned the victim’s injury was non-life-threatening.

Investigators say the shooting occurred while the victim was walking along Cottage Hill Road near Broadcast Drive. During the preliminary investigation, detectives determined the victim was approached by two unidentified male suspects who allegedly attempted to rob him.

Police said that as the victim tried to pull away from the suspects, one of the individuals allegedly opened fire, striking him before the suspects fled the area.

Despite being wounded, the victim was able to make his way to a local hospital for treatment, where medical personnel notified law enforcement.

Authorities have not released descriptions of the suspects, and it remains unclear whether they fled on foot or in a vehicle. No arrests have been announced.
