MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — Mobile police are investigating a violent assault that left one man injured after he was allegedly pistol-whipped and shot at during an altercation Sunday afternoon.

According to the Mobile Police Department, officers responded to the 120 block of Michael Donald Avenue at approximately 1:55 p.m. on Sunday, July 26, 2026, following reports of an assault.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found an adult male suffering from what authorities described as non-life-threatening injuries. The victim was treated at the scene before being transported to a local hospital for further medical care.

As detectives began their investigation, they learned the victim had allegedly been struck multiple times with a handgun during the confrontation. Investigators also determined that the suspect fired shots at the victim during the incident. Despite the gunfire, authorities said the victim was not struck by any bullets, avoiding what could have been a deadly outcome.

Police have not released the identities of either the victim or the suspected attacker, and no arrests have been announced.

Investigators have not disclosed what led to the altercation or whether the individuals involved knew one another. Detectives are continuing to gather evidence, interview witnesses, and work to determine the full sequence of events that unfolded before the violence erupted.
