Huntsville, AL (BuzzReport)- A recent child predator operation in Huntsville has resulted in the arrest of ten men, according to the Huntsville Police Department (HPD). The operation, conducted in conjunction with the Madison County District Attorney’s Office, targeted individuals suspected of exploiting children online. The arrests, which took place over Friday and Saturday, stem from an HPD investigation where undercover officers posed as minors online. Police report that the suspects initiated contact with the undercover officers through messaging platforms and online forums, subsequently arranging meetings with the intention of exchanging money or goods for sex acts, believing the officers to be actual minors. The ten men arrested face a total of 34 charges. They are: Darryl Lamont Surles Jr., 33, of Toney, charged with one count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child, and one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. Marshae Deshawn Rivers, 33, of Huntsville, charged with one count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child, one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act, one count of distributing/transmitting obscene material to a child by electronic device, and one count of possession of a controlled substance (opium or derivative). Damien Darrell Jones, 36, of Huntsville, charged with two counts of first-degree human trafficking, two counts of electronic solicitation of a child, and one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. John Wayne Erby, 59, of Holly Pond, charged with one count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child, and one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. Rubin Epps Banks, 44, of Madison, charged with one count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child, and one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. Oliver Clemente, 40, of Huntsville, charged with one count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child, and one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. Jared Lavon Breach-Marrow, 29, of Huntsville, charged with one count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child, and one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. Jahsiem Ramiek Davis, 31, of Huntsville, charged with one count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child, and one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. Jesus Alberto Moran-Carpio, 32, of Huntsville, charged with one count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child, and one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. Heriberto Priego Ramirez, 33, of Huntsville, charged with one count of first-degree human trafficking, one count of electronic solicitation of a child, and one count of traveling to meet a child for an unlawful sex act. “This operation is part of HPD’s unwavering commitment to protect our children from online predators,” stated Huntsville Police Chief Kirk Giles. “We will continue to work aggressively to identify, investigate and bring these offenders to justice.” Authorities have stated that additional charges may be filed as the investigation continues. Each of the arrested men is scheduled for an Aniah’s Law hearing, which will determine if they will be held without bond due to the severity of the alleged offenses.
