Slidell, LA (BuzzReport) – Corey Griffin, who was involved in a police encounter early Monday morning, has been captured by the SWAT/K9 team. Griffin was initially charged with Domestic Violence by Aggravated Assault. A judge has since signed a warrant for additional charges.

New Charges:

  • Attempted First Degree Murder of a Police Officer: Griffin faces allegations of attempting to kill a law enforcement officer.
  • Firearm-Related Charges:
    • Aggravated Assault with a Firearm: Griffin allegedly used a firearm to harm or threaten others.
    • Illegal Carrying of Weapons: Griffin is accused of unlawfully carrying a weapon.
    • Convicted Felon in Possession of a Firearm: Griffin, as a convicted felon, is prohibited from possessing a firearm.
    • Theft of a Firearm: Griffin allegedly stole a firearm.
  • Other Charges:
    • Obstruction of Justice: Griffin interfered with the investigation.
    • Resisting an Officer: Griffin resisted law enforcement.
    • Possession of a Schedule II Narcotic: Griffin possessed a controlled substance.
    • Criminal Trespassing: Griffin allegedly trespassed on private property.

This is an ongoing investigation.
