MOBILE, AL (BuzzReport)— A Mobile man is facing criminal charges after police say he unlawfully entered a residence through an unlocked door Tuesday morning before being taken into custody without incident. According to the Mobile Police Department, officers responded to the 30 block of Alverson Road on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at approximately 10:30 a.m., following reports of an incident at a residence. When officers arrived, they discovered that a male suspect had allegedly entered the home through an unlocked door and was still inside the residence. Police quickly secured the scene and detained the suspect without incident. No injuries were reported during the encounter, and authorities did not indicate whether the suspect had any prior connection to the homeowner or if anything had been taken from the residence. The suspect was identified as John Crain, 60, who was arrested at the scene and transported to Mobile Metro Jail. Investigators have not released additional details regarding what may have led Crain to enter the home, and the specific charges against him have not yet been announced. The incident serves as a reminder for residents to keep doors and windows secured, even during the daytime, as unlocked entry points can provide easy access for individuals with criminal intent or those acting unlawfully. The investigation remains ongoing, and anyone with additional information related to the incident is encouraged to contact the Mobile Police Department Share this:Tweet Email a link to a friend (Opens in new window) Email Share on Threads (Opens in new window) Threads Share on Bluesky (Opens in new window) Bluesky Share on WhatsApp (Opens in new window) WhatsApp Share on Nextdoor (Opens in new window) Nextdoor More Share on Reddit (Opens in new window) Reddit Like this:Like Loading… Related Post navigation Woman Fatally Struck at West Mobile Walmart Identified; Homicide Investigation Underway Prichard Police Chief Walter Knight and Major Alfred Tucker Indicted, Arrested in Corruption Investigation
