CITRONELLE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A Citronelle Police Department officer has died following a tragic crash Thursday afternoon, according to sources familiar with the incident. Authorities say the officer’s patrol vehicle reportedly left the roadway and crashed into a tree along Mobile Street North near Laird Drive. Emergency crews responded quickly to the scene, but the officer succumbed to injuries sustained in the crash. At this time, officials have not released the identity of the officer pending notification of family members.
