Daphne Man Arrested After Allegedly Exposing Himself to Woman at Village Point Park

DAPHNE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A 22-year-old Daphne man is facing an indecent exposure charge after police say he intentionally exposed his genitals to an adult woman in the parking lot of Village Point Park.

According to the Daphne Police Department, officers were called to Village Point Park, located at 27710 Main St., at approximately 4 p.m. Thursday, August 20, after a woman reported a disturbing encounter with a man in the parking area.

Police said the man approached the woman and allegedly intentionally exposed his genitals.

Rather than retreating, the woman stood her ground and warned the man that she would defend herself. Investigators said the suspect then fled the area in a pickup truck.

The woman was able to photograph the vehicle as it left the scene, providing officers with potentially important evidence in the investigation.

Following the report, Daphne police investigators worked to identify the person believed to be responsible. Authorities later positively identified the suspect as 22-year-old Michael Ryan Cain of Daphne.

Cain ultimately surrendered to authorities Tuesday afternoon at the Daphne Police Department Correction Center after learning there was an outstanding warrant for his arrest.

He was booked into jail on a charge of Indecent Exposure, a Class A misdemeanor.

Cain is scheduled to appear before a Municipal Judge in October.

Potential Penalties

Under Alabama law, a conviction for indecent exposure can carry significant consequences. The offense is punishable by a potential fine of up to $5,000 and up to one year in jail.

Depending on the circumstances and applicable legal requirements, an individual convicted of the offense may also be required to register with the Alabama Sex Offender Registry under Alabama Code Title 15-20A-5(9).
