MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — Mobile Fire-Rescue crews are actively battling a dangerous residential fire on South Reed Avenue involving a two-story home engulfed in flames and heavy smoke.

Emergency responders arrived to find intense fire conditions on the second floor of the residence as smoke poured from the structure. Firefighters quickly began aggressive suppression efforts to contain the blaze and prevent it from spreading.

Authorities confirmed that one civilian suffered a lower leg injury while escaping the burning home. The individual was treated at the scene by emergency medical personnel before being transported to a local hospital for further care. The extent of the injuries has not yet been released.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation, and officials have not yet said whether anyone else was inside the residence at the time the fire broke out.

The scene remains active as firefighters continue working to fully extinguish hotspots and assess damage to the home.
