MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A 70-year-old man has been arrested following an incident involving the unlawful entry of a vehicle and the theft of a tow truck key at a local business Friday evening.

According to authorities, officers were dispatched at approximately 5:00 p.m. on April 3, 2026, to Gulf Coast Graphix, located at 5630 Highway 90, Suite A, in reference to a detained individual.

Upon arrival, officers learned that the subject had been detained after being found in possession of a key belonging to a tow truck owned by a male victim. Investigators say the key had been left inside the vehicle prior to being reported missing.

Through the course of the investigation, officers determined that the suspect had unlawfully entered the vehicle and removed the key without permission.

The suspect, identified as Morde Spencer, Jr., 70, was taken into custody at the scene without incident. He was subsequently transported to Metro Jail, where he is being held pending formal charges.

Authorities have not released additional details about the circumstances leading up to the incident, and the case remains under investigation.

Officials continue to remind residents and business owners to secure their vehicles and avoid leaving keys or valuables inside, as such actions can make them targets for theft.
