Mobile, Alabama (BuzzReport) — A violent and chaotic night unfolded in downtown Mobile as police responded to two separate shooting incidents that occurred almost simultaneously late Sunday, February 15, 2026, authorities confirmed.

At approximately 11:09 p.m., officers already assigned to the city’s Entertainment District rushed to the 200 block of Dauphin Street near South Joachim Street after reports of gunfire. Upon arrival, officers found multiple gunshot victims scattered across the scene.

According to investigators, seven adult victims were injured in the shooting. Three victims were transported by ambulance to local hospitals, while four others arrived by personal vehicle. One of the victims remained in critical condition as of Monday morning.

Police determined that an altercation occurred just east of the intersection, escalating rapidly when shots were fired into a crowded area.

SECOND SHOOTING CLAIMS A LIFE

At the same time, officers were dispatched to a parking lot near Government Street and South Joachim Street for a second shooting. A male victim was found deceased at the scene.

Initially, investigators believed the two shootings were connected. However, further investigation revealed the incidents were unrelated but occurred simultaneously.

Police say the second shooting stemmed from an attempted robbery involving jewelry, during which both individuals exchanged gunfire. The intended robbery victim was struck and treated at a local hospital for non-life-threatening injuries after arriving by personal vehicle. The alleged robbery suspect was pronounced dead at the scene.

The deceased has been identified as Javeli Alexander, 21. Authorities also confirmed that multiple unoccupied vehicles were struck by gunfire during the exchange.
