Mobile Man Arrested After Alleged Metal Theft Behind Church on Moffett Road

Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) — A Mobile man was arrested Saturday night after officers responded to a report of suspicious activity behind a church on Moffett Road, authorities said.

According to police, officers were dispatched to the 4700 block of Moffett Road at approximately 8:04 p.m. on Saturday, February 7, 2026, following a call reporting unusual activity at the location.

When officers arrived, they observed a male subject loading assorted metal items onto a trailer. A female subject was also present, seated inside a vehicle at the scene. After further investigation, officers determined the individuals were allegedly stealing property from the location.

The male suspect was identified as Jasper Johnson, 60. He was taken into custody and transported to the Mobile Metro Jail. Information regarding potential charges and the identity of the female subject has not been released.

The incident remains under investigation, and authorities have not disclosed whether additional arrests or charges are expected.
