Atmore, AL (BuzzReport) — A Molino, Florida man already facing serious felony drug charges in Escambia County, Florida, is once again behind bars—this time following an early-morning traffic stop in Atmore, Alabama. Authorities say Mark Wayne McDonald, 56, was stopped by Atmore Police at approximately 1:25 a.m. on Highway 21after officers observed his vehicle operating without headlights and displaying an expired license plate. What began as a routine traffic violation quickly escalated into another drug arrest. During the stop, officers discovered McDonald had an active misdemeanor warrant. A search of the vehicle allegedly uncovered methamphetamine, marijuana, and drug paraphernalia, leading to his immediate arrest. McDonald was transported to the Escambia County (Alabama) Detention Center, where he was booked on the following charges: Possession of a Controlled Substance Possession of Marijuana, First Degree Possession of Drug Paraphernalia The arrest comes just weeks after McDonald was charged on November 26, 2025, in Escambia County, Florida, with felony methamphetamine trafficking. In that case, deputies say a traffic stop led to the discovery of 32 grams of crystal methamphetamine concealed inside a Whataburger bag sitting in McDonald’s lap. Investigators in the Florida case also reported finding fentanyl, burnt foil, and additional drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. With criminal cases now pending in two states, McDonald’s legal situation continues to intensify. Authorities have not yet released information regarding potential extradition or how the Alabama charges may impact his upcoming Florida trial.
