Wilcox County, Ala. (BuzzReport) — Alabama State Troopers are searching for the driver and vehicle involved in a deadly hit-and-run that claimed the life of a 32-year-old man early Sunday morning in Wilcox County. The crash occurred around 2:45 a.m. on Sunday, Jan. 18, along Alabama Highway 5 near mile marker 6, approximately two miles south of the Pine Hill city limits. Authorities say DeQuarius L. Pritchett of Arlington was walking in the roadway when he was struck by an unknown vehicle that fled the scene. First responders arrived to find Pritchett critically injured. He was pronounced dead at the scene. The Alabama Law Enforcement Agency (ALEA) Highway Patrol Division is actively investigating the incident. Troopers say the driver and vehicle involved have not yet been identified, and they are urging the public to come forward with any information that could help bring answers to Pritchett’s family.
