Washington (BuzzReport)- America is gripped by a fundamental crisis. Democracy, ostensibly the shared foundation of this republic, appears under relentless attack, driven by political parties whose differences, though framed as vast ideological chasms, are increasingly about who benefits from the system, not the system itself. We are witness to a severe internal struggle: Conservative Communists vs. Socialist Communists.

For decades, the standard political narrative, championed primarily by white Americans aligned with the Republican party, has painted Democrats as dangerous “Socialist Communists,” catering solely to entitlements and government welfare. This framing, however, masks a deeper, more profound truth about who is truly advocating for the prosperity of all Americans.

The 21st Century Struggle in America

The core promise of this nation—the American Dream of success, prosperity, and happiness—is largely unattainable for the working majority in the 21st century. Happiness is hard to find, success seems distant, and prosperity is reserved for an elite few.

The harsh economic realities facing citizens are stark and unsustainable. Workers are still suffering from low wages, struggling to feed their families and enjoy life, while the wealthy sit back and watch their income grow—often viewing hard workers as little more than instruments of labor.

Americans need a living wage. In today’s society, a minimum of $15 per hour is necessary to support the American Dream and allow families to be self-sufficient. Yet, wages lag far behind the soaring cost of living. Rent payments average $1,200 a month, a figure often inflated because landlords across the country raise prices to match what government assistance programs (like HUD/Section 8) are willing to pay. When the government pays more, landlords charge more.

Food prices, gas, insurance, and essential goods have risen to unprecedented levels over the last 5-10 years. Millions of Americans are now forced to make agonizing choices: pay a critical bill or buy necessary food and medication. If your pockets are hurting, and you face this impossible decision, you have no place in a conservative communist society.

Conservative Communism vs. Liberal or Socialist Communism

The political divide in Washington is a fight for two distinct Americas: a Wealthy America and a Struggling America.

Defining Conservative Communism

The Republican party, known for its extreme fiscal conservatism, prioritizes spending cuts designed to help struggling Americans “less than needed.” They are known for giving massive tax dollars—derived from the labor of working and poor Americans—to wealthy businessmen and corporations, ensuring that while the rich get exponentially richer, the working class hurts and falls further behind.

This is the ideology of the Conservative Communist. They work tirelessly to raise taxes on the working and poor, ensuring the wealthiest Americans thrive on the benefits of the majority. This regime lacks the leadership and heart to support the citizens who power the economy.

Beyond economics, conservatives have worked hard to dismantle the very benefits of success, the rights of democracy, and freedom for all. A worrying fraction of the current movement echoes the prejudices of the 1960s, where racism and restriction populated the equation of American life. Today, this destructive ideology attempts a resurgence in new language and actions, limiting how people of color are educated, where they attend school, and how they participate in society and government.

This ideology even taints the judiciary. There is currently one conservative justice on the US Supreme Court who frequently aligns with the majority conservative ideology, perpetually siding against his own racial community to align with and enhance the wealth of America’s elite—leaving behind the struggling class from which he came.

Furthermore, many self-proclaimed “Christian conservatives” join this movement, often quoting biblical scripture to justify their political beliefs. Yet, they operate within a conservative communist ideology that harms the lives of the many for the sake of 1% of the wealthy. The Bible declares that one fish and five loaves of bread fed many; it never suggests that a few shall cause the lives of the multitude to go hungry or be unjustly treated. Jesus himself asked how one love me while hating your brother and sister they see every day. This leadership is one of hate and division, not prosperity and fellowship.

Defending Socialist Communism: The American Way to Prosperity

The political party alignment that the right venomously labels “Socialist Communists”—the Democrats—works to ensure that poor Americans can have food, living wages, education, and better communities.

It is a fact that Democrats strive to ensure Americans receive their fair share of tax money, vital services, and meet the needs of the less fortunate who cannot make ends meet. Democrats believe that Americans should not go hungry, education should be afforded to all regardless of the zip code, housing should be provided to the poor, and healthcare must be accessible for all.

Building better communities, enhancing economic opportunity, and establishing healthier families is the true foundation of the American Dream. These policies allow everyone to participate in the growth of America, whether through owning a small business, owning a home, working a livable job with benefits, or receiving an education in a free society.

There is nothing wrong with being a part of an ideology—whether you call it socialism or democratic reform—that is fighting for the American Dream, making sure everyone succeeds.

We are now living in two different political realities. One is fighting for prosperity, and the other for hate and division. If we continue to allow conservative politicians to roll back time to the exclusionary and damaging ideologies of the 1960s, America is on the brink of failing.

Negotiation, compromise, and working together for the good of the nation should always be the ideological model for America. The people fail when we work against each other.

“All I wish for and want is an America that works for all, and where we can all succeed together, regardless of where we come from, live, or what we look like,” says Robert Demmimgs. “Our political and judicial system is broken.”
