The incident unfolded on Tuesday, October 21, 2025, when Mobile Police Department officers responded to reports of a shooting at approximately 11:31 p.m. at 3811 Old Shell Road, the location of Wilmer Hall. Upon arrival, officers tragically discovered Amiayia White deceased inside the premises, having sustained a fatal gunshot wound. Authorities swiftly identified David Smith as a male subject known to the victim and involved in the shooting. David Smith, 21 Smith was taken into custody on Wednesday morning and transported to Metro Jail. Later that day, the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office confirmed the significant upgrade of his charges to Capital Murder, signaling the profound gravity of the allegations.
