Tragic Collision Claims One Life at Baxter Godwin and Highway 17 in Chatom

CHATOM, AL (BuzzReport) – Emergency crews responded this morning to a devastating two-vehicle accident at the busy intersection of Baxter Godwin Road and Highway 17, a location just north of Fairhope Baptist Church. The incident, which occurred at approximately 7:24 AM, resulted in a fatality.

The Chatom Fire Department was among the first on the scene, working swiftly to assess the situation and provide necessary aid. Details regarding the circumstances leading to the collision are still under investigation by the relevant authorities.

Tragically, one individual was pronounced deceased at the scene. The identity of the victim has not yet been released to the public, as officials work to notify next of kin.

The intersection was temporarily closed as emergency personnel secured the area and began their investigation.
