Elberta, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A cyber tip received by investigators in September has led to the arrest of an Elberta man accused of possessing child sexual abuse material, following a forensic examination of his personal electronic device. Timothy Eyres was arrested after investigators uncovered evidence during an investigation into his online activities, according to information released by authorities. The investigation began on September 22, 2026, when officials received a cyber tip that prompted an inquiry into Eyres’ online activity. Investigators subsequently obtained and executed multiple search warrants as they worked to determine whether criminal activity had occurred. One of those warrants authorized a search of Eyres’ personal electronic device on October 15. During a forensic examination of the device, investigators reportedly discovered numerous items of evidence, most of which allegedly depicted sexually explicit material involving children. Following the examination, authorities obtained arrest warrants charging Eyres with four counts of violating Alabama Code Section 13A-12-192(b), which addresses possession of child sexual abuse material. Eyres was taken into custody and is currently being held at the Baldwin County Sheriff’s Corrections Center. His bond was set at $100,000 cash. Court-ordered release conditions According to authorities, Eyres’ release conditions include restrictions prohibiting contact with children, access to the internet and possession of firearms. He will also be required to wear GPS monitoring equipment if released. The restrictions are intended to establish specific conditions for his release while the criminal case moves forward. The allegations stem from evidence investigators say they recovered from Eyres’ electronic device. Additional details about the cyber tip, the specific online activity under investigation and the identities or circumstances of any potential victims have not been disclosed in the information provided. This is an ongoing investigation.
