SPANISH FORT, AL (BuzzReport)— Authorities in Spanish Fort have confirmed the tragic identities of the two individuals found deceased inside a vehicle on the Causeway Sunday, officially designating the case as an apparent murder-suicide. The release of names on Monday provides initial closure on a shocking domestic tragedy that occurred over the weekend.

The victim was identified as 41-year-old Veromonique Ntseful-Dubose, a resident of Mobile. Her husband, 36-year-old Taurean Dubose, also of Mobile, was found deceased at the scene from what preliminary reports indicate was a self-inflicted gunshot wound, police stated.

The incident unfolded Sunday, drawing a heavy police presence to the Spanish Fort section of the Causeway. Both individuals were discovered inside a white Chevrolet Tahoe. Police have not yet released details regarding the immediate time or cause of the escalation, but investigators are working to establish a timeline of events leading up to the fatalities.

While the current evidence strongly suggests a clear domestic violence incident resulting in the murder-suicide, the Spanish Fort Police Department emphasized Monday that the investigation remains active and comprehensive. Detectives are processing forensic evidence and attempting to gather insight into the couple’s relationship dynamics prior to the event.

Given the gravity and localized nature of the incident, the Spanish Fort Police Department is urging the public to come forward with any pertinent information. Anyone who may have observed the couple or the white Chevrolet Tahoe in the area over the weekend, or who possesses information that could assist authorities in their investigation, is asked to contact the Spanish Fort Police Department immediately at 251-626-4914
