The search resulted in the arrest of Levi Jernigan, 40, who was charged with four offenses, including trafficking in fentanyl and possession of cocaine with intent to sell.

The discovery of firearms and protective equipment alongside the suspected narcotics added to the seriousness of the case, which involves allegations of drug trafficking and prohibited firearm possession.

Fentanyl is a powerful synthetic opioid associated with a substantial risk of overdose. Its presence in an alleged drug-trafficking investigation raises concerns about the potential danger posed by illicit substances entering the community.

Authorities have not released additional details about the investigation, including whether the seized drugs were intended for distribution, how long investigators had been examining the location or whether further arrests are anticipated.

Jernigan’s arrest followed the execution of the search warrant by the sheriff’s office narcotics investigators. The charges remain allegations, and the case will proceed through the court system.
