Silverhill Man Arrested on Child Sexual Abuse Charges After Baldwin County Investigation

SILVERHILL, AL (BuzzReport) – Authorities in Baldwin County have arrested a Silverhill man following an investigation into the sexual abuse of two children under the age of 12. Robert James Franklin, 35, was taken into custody on September 8, 2025, and faces multiple charges of sexual abuse of a child.

The Baldwin County Sheriff’s Office Criminal Investigations Division initiated an investigation in August 2025 after receiving a tip regarding a possible occurrence of sexual abuse involving a child less than 12 years old.

Detectives pursued the lead, and through the course of their investigation, it was confirmed that two distinct children, both under the age of twelve, had been subjected to sexual contact. The alleged offenses are reported to have taken place at Franklin’s home in the Silverhill area of Baldwin County.

Robert James Franklin has been identified as the alleged offender in this case. He was arrested on two charges of Sexual Abuse of a Child Less than 12 years old, with one charge corresponding to each victim.

Franklin was subsequently booked into the Baldwin County Corrections Center. He is currently being held on a $50,000 bond.

As of this reporting, law enforcement officials have stated that no other victims have been identified in connection with this case. The investigation remains ongoing.
