Mobile, AL (BuzzReport)  – Mobile police responded to a tense early-morning shooting in the city’s midtown area, leaving residents shaken though, fortunately, no one was injured.

According to Mobile Police Department officials, the incident occurred around 12:46 a.m. at the intersection of Cherry Street and McKinley Street. Officers arrived to find that multiple gunshots had been fired into a vehicle occupied and driven by a female victim. While her car sustained visible damage from the gunfire, the woman was unharmed.

Investigators quickly identified the suspected shooter as 33-year-old Quentin White, described by authorities as a “known subject.” Officers located and took White into custody without further incident. He was later booked into Metro Jail, facing charges related to shooting into an occupied vehicle—an offense considered a serious felony under Alabama law.

Police have not released a motive, though they confirmed that the shooting did not appear to be a random act. Detectives are continuing their investigation to determine the circumstances that led to the confrontation.

Neighborhood residents voiced concerns Saturday morning, saying incidents like this highlight the need for increased patrols in the area. “It’s frightening to think that this happened just outside our homes,” said one nearby resident, who asked not to be identified. “We’re glad no one was hurt, but the potential was there for something much worse.”

Mobile Police are urging anyone with additional information about the case to contact their office or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.

As White awaits his first court appearance, police emphasized their ongoing commitment to public safety.
