Mobile, AL (BuzzReport)- A 19-year-old suspect has been taken into custody in connection with an attempted robbery and assault that occurred at a Little Caesars restaurant on Airport Boulevard Wednesday afternoon, according to Mobile Police.

Authorities said officers were dispatched to 2308 Airport Boulevard at approximately 4:30 p.m. on September 3, after receiving reports of an altercation inside the restaurant. When officers arrived, they spoke with an employee who described a tense encounter with an alleged offender.

According to the victim, a woman entered the store and demanded merchandise. When the employee refused, the subject went behind the counter, began selecting items herself, and attempted to leave. The victim tried to intervene, prompting a physical altercation in which the employee sustained minor, non-life-threatening injuries.

The suspect fled the scene before police arrived, sparking an investigation. Detectives later identified Montrez Mosley, 19, as one of the individuals connected to the case. He was subsequently located and transported to Mobile County Metro Jail without further incident. Mosley has been charged with Robbery in the Second Degree.

Police have not released the identity of the female subject believed to have been directly involved inside the restaurant, and the case remains under active investigation.

The incident underscores what local business owners describe as a troubling trend of retail-related crimes involving both theft and assault. “It’s scary,” said one nearby store manager, who asked not to be identified. “We just want our employees to feel safe at work. That should never be in question.”

Mobile Police are encouraging community members with information related to the incident to contact their office or submit tips anonymously through Crime Stoppers.
