DAPHNE, AL (BuzzReport) – Police in Daphne are investigating a shooting incident that occurred Sunday night at a local Walmart store, where a man allegedly fired a gunshot at the building following a confrontation with employees in the parking lot. Fortunately, no injuries were reported, though a bullet hole was found on the building’s exterior.

According to the Daphne Police Department, the tense situation began inside the store when a Walmart employee noticed a firearm visibly tucked into a man’s waistband. The employee approached the man and requested that he secure the weapon in his vehicle or cover it. This conversation quickly escalated into an argument, prompting the man and his female companion, who was with a baby, to leave the store.

The dispute continued into the parking lot, where the man reportedly exchanged words with a second Walmart employee. As the man and his companion were exiting the parking lot in a vehicle, the suspect leaned out of the passenger-side window and fired a single round towards the building, police stated.

Investigators confirmed that a bullet hole was discovered on the exterior of the Walmart building. While no one was injured in the incident, the Daphne Police Department underscored the extreme danger of the situation, emphasizing the potential for severe harm to innocent bystanders, including children, in such a public place.

The investigation is ongoing, with law enforcement actively reviewing surveillance footage from the scene and pursuing several leads to identify and apprehend the suspect.
