Mobile, AL (BuzzReport) – District 2 City Councilman William Carroll has officially launched his re-election campaign, seeking to secure another term representing the people of his district. According to a recent news release, Carroll aims to continue the work he began four years ago, focusing on infrastructure improvements, affordable housing initiatives, and increased community investment.

“My work has always been about putting the needs of our residents first – listening, responding, and delivering real solutions,” Carroll stated. “We’ve made important progress, but there’s more to do, and I’m ready to keep moving District 2 forward.”

Since rejoining the council in 2021, Carroll has spearheaded several initiatives aimed at bolstering the District 2 community. The news release highlighted significant upgrades to infrastructure, including recent road and sidewalk resurfacing projects on North Scott Street, Maryland Street, and Jefferson Street.

Improvements to public parks have also been a focus during Carroll’s tenure. James Seals Park, Texas Street Park, and Crawford Murphy Park have all benefited from the addition of new sidewalks, pickleball and tennis courts, inviting sitting areas, and modern playground equipment.

Looking ahead, Carroll has outlined a clear vision for his next term, if re-elected. His priorities will include addressing the critical need for affordable housing options, enhancing public safety measures, pursuing further modernization of infrastructure, and attracting new businesses to the district.

The race for the District 2 seat is shaping up to be competitive. Carroll faces challenges from Samantha Ingram, former Deputy Superintendent of the Mobile County School Board, and Reggie Hill, a well-known community activist.

Mobile residents will head to the polls on Tuesday, August 26th to decide who will represent District 2 on the City Council.
