Alabama Man Dies After Stabbing His Father in Domestic Dispute

Decatur, AL (BuzzReport) – A tragic domestic dispute in Decatur, Alabama, has resulted in the death of a 50-year-old man after he allegedly stabbed his 79-year-old father, according to the Decatur Police Department.

Officers responded to a call at a residence on Harpeth Place SW around 7:26 p.m. Sunday evening regarding a reported stabbing. Upon arrival, they discovered a 79-year-old man suffering from a stab wound and a 50-year-old man who was unresponsive.

The preliminary investigation suggests that the 50-year-old male stabbed his father before a physical altercation ensued between the two men.

The 50-year-old was immediately transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead. The 79-year-old victim was also taken to the hospital for treatment of his injuries, which are reported to be non-life-threatening.
