Mobile Police Resolve Standoff, One Dead One in Custody

Mobile, AL – (BuzzReport)- A tense standoff in Mobile’s Driftwood Drive East neighborhood came to an end early Sunday morning after police took a male subject into custody. The incident began around 8:05 a.m. when officers responded to a report of a possible shooting in the 3900 block of Driftwood Drive East.

According to authorities, a male victim was found deceased inside the residence after SWAT team entry. The subject was barricaded inside the home before being taken into custody without further incident.

Preliminary investigation suggests the incident was an isolated, domestic-related matter, and police stress there is no threat to public safety.

The Mobile Police Department has refrained from releasing additional details, citing the ongoing nature of the investigation. An update is expected on Monday as more information becomes available.
