MOBILE, Ala. (BuzzReport) — A Mobile man is facing criminal charges after police say an altercation at a residence Sunday evening ended with another man suffering non-life-threatening injuries.

The incident happened on Sunday, August 9, 2026, at approximately 6 p.m., when officers responded to a local hospital after a male victim arrived seeking treatment for injuries sustained during an apparent confrontation.

According to investigators, officers learned that the victim had been involved in an altercation at a home in the 4000 block of Meadow Wood Curve. During the confrontation, police say a known male subject cut the victim, leaving him injured.

The victim was transported to the hospital for medical treatment. His injuries were described as non-life-threatening.

As officers continued their investigation, the suspect was identified as Carey Franklin, 30.

Franklin was subsequently taken into custody and transported to the Metro Jail, where he was booked in connection with the incident.

The circumstances that led to the altercation, including what prompted the confrontation and the events immediately preceding the cutting, remain part of the investigation.

Authorities have not indicated that the incident involved an ongoing threat to the public, and the victim is expected to recover from his injuries.

As with all criminal cases, Franklin is presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in a court of law.
