UPDATE: Prichard Code Enforcement Officer and Mobile County Constable Faces Seven Criminal Charges in Multiple Investigations

PRICHARD, AL. (The Buzz Report) — A Prichard code enforcement officer and elected Mobile County constable is now facing a total of seven criminal charges after prosecutors announced additional felony counts stemming from a separate investigation into the circumstances surrounding his election to public office.

According to the Mobile County District Attorney’s Office, Albert McCreary has been charged with second-degree insurance fraud, second-degree criminal possession of a forged instrument, and second-degree perjury. Prosecutors allege the new charges are connected to an investigation involving matters related to his election to public office.

The latest charges come as McCreary was already under investigation in an unrelated criminal case involving serious sexual assault allegations.

The Mobile County Sheriff’s Office said investigators obtained approval to file four additional charges after gathering evidence during that investigation. Those charges include:

• First-degree rape
• First-degree sexual abuse
• First-degree unlawful imprisonment
• A felony firearm charge

Authorities have not publicly released additional details regarding the allegations or the evidence supporting the charges.

McCreary remains in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service on a federal hold while the state and federal cases continue to move through the judicial process.
